Typo Lab
layout workshop - 2023
This group workshop, titled Typo Laboratory, focused on hands-on exploration of typographic systems with an emphasis on modularity and motion. Rather than pursuing a single polished outcome, the aim was to test, break, and reconfigure layouts in order to better understand their potential across different media.
Throughout the process, we investigated how typographic compositions could adapt to both print and digital formats, working especially with banners and posters. The modular approach allowed us to experiment with flexible grids and repeating structures, which could be easily reimagined in motion or scaled for different contexts.
Animation and interactivity became natural extensions of the typographic work, offering new possibilities for dynamic visual communication. Instead of theoretical exercises, we focused on pragmatic testing—rapid iterations, peer feedback, and constant refinement led to a series of concrete outcomes that blend functionality with aesthetic rhythm.
This project was not about making grand claims, but about learning by doing: testing typographic ideas through direct application and collaborative experimentation.
